G-string Journey

One Wild Journey, One Crazy Couple, One Life to Live

About Us

44 years old, made in Germany in 1969. Some-one most likely drove this car from Germany to Afghanistan. This was a common way to get cars into the country at the time and was a popular trip. Now, since the original low-cost suicide cars were Volkswagens, very few VW Beetles exist in Kabul anymore. Humpty is, however, a survivor and will be put back together again!
For background-001

Seamus Clancy
Seamus first came to Afghanistan in 2008 as a tourist. He traveled throughout the country and decided that it was a place for which he could give up his fortune 500 job in Ireland to come and live. He arrived in 2008 and took up a job in Kabul. When that company finished up in Afghanistan, he became a consultant and needed to find his own transport. That is when Humpty came into his life.

Sheilagh Henry
I came to Afghanistan in 2007, a few weeks after marrying Seamus. The job was only going to last a year, then two, then, three… Now, six years later, I am still here; the country and its people have a way of keeping you fascinated! With Seamus here, Afghanistan became home.
